The ELT-400 vehicle measurement system was specifically designed for the use in passenger cars. The positions of the probes can be adjusted using an optionally available bracket to suit different seat types and sitting positions. A frequency range of 1 Hz – 400 kHz is covered by using the ELT-400 magnetic field analyzer from Narda STS as measurement probes. The magnetic field density is measured in Tesla and the exposure can be shown directly in percentage of the allowed safety limit according to the chosen standard / directive. A spectrum can be viewed for each installed probe in the car by the use of FFT-analysis which helps to associate the magnetic field exposure with specific objects in the car by referring to the frequencies. This makes it easier to locate the cause of high exposure in case of a limit violation. The measurement data of each probe is logged and can be saved for future analysis or further evaluation.
This system offers great advantages for measurements in newly designed hybrid or electrically powered cars. Thanks to the automatic logging function of the system it is even possible to drive the car during the measurement and evaluate load changes under real-world conditions.
Furthermore it is optionally possible to feed in car data into the measurement system directly via the CAN-interface. This data can be logged simultaneously during the measurement and can be saved and viewed at any time. This simplifies the association of the measurement data with the car parameters.
